Summary:

Dempers’ experience has been characterized by a solid combination of investment management, client facing and business development related responsibilities. In his time at Alexander Forbes Investments he gained an important understanding of how to manage complex relationships with large multi-national clients. He also added to his technical expertise by spending some valuable time functioning as a member of the investment team, reporting to the Deputy Chief Investment Officer (CIO), where he was responsible for co-managing the equity, bonds and listed property portfolios. Additionally, he was part of an intrapreneurial venture where he co-founded a brand-new business department focusing on Stokvel investments.

From Alexander Forbes Investments Dempers decided to join the International Finance Corporation (part of the World Bank Group) where he functioned as a member of the investment team, part of the Manufacturing, Agriculture and Consumer Services (MAS) department, with a specific focus on debt and equity transactions in the Health & Education (H&E) and Tourism, Retail and Property (TRP) sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa. In his time at IFC he has worked on multiple debt and equity deals.

Summary

Ebru started her career as an assistant economist working for a Turkish investment bank before joining Unilever, where she was quickly promoted to business group accountant role for the NAMET region, based in London. From there she moved into the position of strategic assistant to the Group President of the larger AMET region. Ebru’s next strategic move was into the marketing space at Unilever, where she rose to the position of Marketing Director for the Foods division and subsequently Home & Personal Care for the Central Africa region. In her thirteen years at Unilever, she not only gained extensive management experience in diverse business functions and geographical locations, but also developed critical expertise in market development/growth and Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP) business opportunities.

In 2013, Ebru joined RCL FOODS as Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs. Here she played a key role in crafting and launching the RCL FOODS corporate brand internally and externally, and helping set the RCL FOODS agenda for the future through her strategic leadership support. She also played a critical role in crafting RCL FOODS’ Sustainable Business Drive and has been instrumental in channelling significant investments into circular economy initiatives and transforming the company’s traditional CSI approach by creating a separate NPO, the DO MORE FOUNDATION.

Ebru is a strategic thinker who believes in the transformative power of business to solve problems and drive progress. Her business philosophy and passion is to see challenges as opportunities to do things differently, and to find win-win solutions that sustainably benefit all stakeholders.

Summary:

Stefan started his career in the aeronautical industry by specialising in computational fluid dynamics, where after he moved to the consulting engineering services of Van Wyk & Louw consulting engineers (now Aurecon). Subsequently he spent a decade with Biwater, a multinational water services contractor, ending up as an Executive Director for its sub-Saharan operations.

Stefan is an Investment Executive at Remgro Limited. Current roles include board representation on manufacturing company boards, active involvement in the Pembani-Remgro Infrastructure Fund and coordination of a long-term electrical power initiative across the Remgro group of companies.
